HELP Cox’s Bazar (Hand to Embrace the Less Privileged - HELP) is a local NGO based in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. Since 2001, it has been dedicated to enhancing the rights and well-being of vulnerable populations in the region. Registered with the Department of Social Services and affiliated with the NGO Affairs Bureau, HELP has over 19 years of experience in addressing critical issues affecting the deprived and marginalized.At the core of our mission is the promotion and protection of human rights. HELP provides services in combating human trafficking, countering violent extremism, preventing domestic and gender-based violence, addressing reproductive health and HIV/STI needs, offering legal aid to trafficking victims, and fostering livelihoods.Our strategic location in Ukhiya, near historical trafficking routes, has enabled us to raise awareness about the risks of unsafe migration while providing vital support to the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN). HELP was among the first responders to the Rohingya crisis, leading interventions later supported by esteemed partners such as IOM, Oxfam, CPI, BRAC, Love Army, and Action Medeor-Germany.Education and empowerment are integral to our work. HELP has enabled 300 women and 150 children to achieve literacy and currently operates a Junior High School with 187 students. Women’s empowerment remains a priority, with significant projects addressing gender-based violence, domestic violence, and trafficking.As we look to the future, HELP aims to expand its efforts in human rights advocacy, safe migration, women’s empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods. We are actively seeking new partnerships to enhance our work in Ukhiya, Rohingya refugee camps, and host communities.
